Visiting Husband in London...Any potential issues?

Hi All,

I was last in London for a week in March. My husband and I got married here in the States on April 14 and sent in our I-130 on April25. Next Thursday will be my first trip to London as his wife and not his girlfriend/fiance. I know that it is recommended for non USC's to bring proof of ties to home country when visiting their spouses in the States, but I am wondering if it's a good idea when travelling to London as well? I will be staying from May 31-July 20 (my summer break from teaching) and I'm thinking it might be a good idea to bring proof that I won't overstay? I haven't had any issues in the past, but what are your thoughts/advice? I definitely don't want to run into any issues at Heathrow next week! :) Thanks all!

07/23/14: Sent ROC Paperwork to CSC

07/25/14: NOA Received

07/29/14: Check for application & biometrics cleared bank

08/18/14: Biometrics Completed

So you are currently in AOS process? If so, I would not travel abroad before getting either the green card or your EAD with Advance parole in it.

Edit: Ups sorry, I misunderstood the situation. Don´t really know how it works that way.

I would just bring proof of your job and the NOA1 to show that your husband is in the process of moving to America to be with you.

England POE is not as strict, so I doubt that they will even look at them... But it is better to be safe then sorry. After getting married to my husband we both flew back and forth through LHR with no problems.

Enjoy the British summer, be glad you'll be gone before the Olympic madness! :thumbs:

I would definitely show them the return plane ticket and a school academic calendar, if you can get one. The longer you stay, the more questions they're going to ask, in general. Wouldn't hurt bring a copy of your checking account statement either. Also--have your husband's cell phone at the ready so that they can call him if necessary...
