just want to ask what is the receipt we need to receive from USCIS..my fiancee receive a receipt from them it is the receipt he sent together with the package..saying the package is already with them...is it nothing..more need to wait

About a week to a month after you send in all your paperwork to USCIS, you will receive an I797C (Notice of Action). On the boards we call this the NOA1. This means that USCIS received all your paperwork and the check to them was written for the right amount. They've entered all your information into their system and you're assigned a case number and can sign up for "my case status" on the USCIS website. Basically, it just means you're now in the USCIS line to be reviewed.

About five months after you get your I797C and if you don't get any requests for more information and there aren't any problems, your fiancee will receive the I797 (Notice of Action). This form will not have the C and be referred to as an NOA2. This means that USCIS approved your petition and is forwarding it to the national visa center who will forward it to the embassy/consulate in your home country.

So, getting the first receipt is good, but getting the second one is even better :)
