WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court will not hear a challenge to redistricting in Illinois despite complaints from the League of Women Voters of Illinois that the new congressional and legislative lines are unconstitutional.

The high court on Monday turned away the lawsuit that complained the new congressional and legislative maps are unconstitutional because they assign voters to districts based on their political views and voting histories. A federal court threw out the group’s lawsuit last year.

New maps are required every 10 years after the census reveals population shifts. Democrats drew them in Illinois because they control the Legislature and governor’s office.

The maps force some Republicans into districts where they must run against other incumbents in 2012 and created just one Latino-majority district, although Illinois’ Hispanic population is 32.5 percent.

You just need to start a half dozen more threads on here in the next five minutes. :hehe:

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Why?

You aren't' going to make me take a "print screen" of P&R right now are you? I mean most of those threads aren't even going to be posted on. People on here like to discuss Obama, race, California's demise, steven's whacked out socialized energy #######, and sex.

This is like Super Bowl time for me. I like it when the Supreme Court starts pumping out these decisions in rapid fire succession. Screw what Congress does, or what the President is up to, this is where the rubber meets the road.
