Hello

My K1 petition was approved on May 8, 2012. I didnt fully read the document that they sent me, but I I was reading the details on VJ as to the next steps. Meaning, the file SHOULD have been sent to the NVC to issue a case number BEFORE its sent to the consulate. Well after waiting on hold with the NVC the operator asked me what does the NOA say. And low and behold, the NOA says its been sent directly to the consulate. Has anyone heard of this?? Skipping the NVC and going to the consulate? If so, what does this mean? Bad or good??? ughh...hate this!

That is fine , the consular is the one who schedule all appointments for K1's. For K1's NVC was only a rest stop, NVC just forward them on to the consular for their completion of the process.

The only time a K1 stays at NVC is if it is flagged for AP.

She meant her approval notice said it is going directly to the consulate not nvc....all k1 petitions stop at nvc before hand then get forwarded to consulate

So the letter is just a error

Thanks guys!! So I should continue to follow up with the NVC on the status of the case number?

Sometimes this is worse than the initial waiting for the NOA2. At least we have a time frame (5 months) to know how long to wait.

Yeah its been 2 weeks mine took about 4 weeks after a month I would worry...

my fiance called and they told him 15 business days so he called today because today would make the 15th day when he called they told him is 20 business days :angry::angry: why they keep misinforming persons everytime you call its something different

Exactly!!! I'm afraid I'll get the "you need to wait 20 days" statement too!
