transfer case gets new receipt#?

hi, I was wondering if a case gets transfered to other service center, the petitioner receives a new receipt number? What happend to the old receipt number?

As my earlier post describes, my petiton was filed to the Chicago and assigned MSC#. Now my fiance and I are hoping the case to be forwarded to Nebraska Service Center asap.
