Lost passport!!

We went to our interview without the medical exam results so once we got approved, the CO told us that my fiance would have to send his passport along with his exam results through DHL.

We did that on May 7th and they gave us a tracking code, which said that the Embassy has received our packet the following day, on May 8th. The lady at DHL told us that the Embassy will send us a new tracking code and with that, we would have to go pick up our passport once it was ready.

However, on Friday we decided to e-mail the Embassy to see what was going on. They replied that they have already processes our passport and it was with DHL, and they did that on Wednesday. After that, we kept on contacting DHL (both going there and through the phone) and they keep on telling us there's no packet for my fiance under that tracking code and that they could not give any information with only names and last names provided.

My question is... Does the embassy use the same tracking code as the one we received when we sent them the medical exam results? What are the chances of it getting lost? How should we proceed in that case since his plane ticket is for next Monday? How are we supposed to find out about our package if there's NO tracking code?

They give you a different code... don't worry it takes about a week or so for them to give you this new code. It's not the same DHL gave you when you left your passport. They will e-mail you the code. (That's what they did with us - I also sent my passport with DHL).Best wishes...
