I-134 questions

Hi everyone.. Couple questions. My co-sponsor and his wife have a baby on the way, due january 1st. He already filled out his I-134 and listed his wife and one year old daughter as dependants. But is he expected to list the baby as a dependant, who will most likely be born by the time of our interview? Hes fine financially so it wont make or break us either way.

Next, what should he fill in as my fiancees relationship to sponsor? "cousin of fiance"?

Thanks in avdance!

Paul123,

At the time the I-134 was filled out, your co-sponsor correctly outlined his household size. Although the household size is "expected" to increase, he was not required to annotate that fact. In addition, as you mentioned, he is not on the financial margin anyway.

When it is AOS time and if he is still co-sponsoring you, he will need to make the change then.

Paul123,

Your Co-sponsor would have indicated his relationship to your Fiance, as you described.

This form is antiquated and really has no legally binding value. With that said, line 3 description of the relationship to your Fiance will not make that much difference anyway. You can get just about anyone to fill out this document, if they qualify.

Thanks for your fast response William! So was it right when he put "cousin of fiance" as my fiancees relationship to him?

Sorry if its a dumb question, i just want it to be totally right :)

Paul,

It depends - is he your cousin? You don't say.

(A possibly fatal flaw in many instances, not saying something because you subconciously assume that everyone knows what you know. Get in the habit of assuming exactly the opposite - no one knows anything at all unless you tell them explicitly.)

Yodrak, thanks for answering..please elaborate a lil bit. The question asks for the beneficary's relationship to the sponsor. Are you saying they would not be able to tell if hes my cousin or her cousin? What if I had him fill it out again and put " Her fiance's cousin" instead? or do you even think its even that relevant as long as he qualifies?
