Hi VJ friends...we are looking into booking a flight for my fiance to come over after his visa intervew. Anyone else from Turkey able to give me an idea of about how long it takes for the visa/passport to be returned to you after the interview? Any information would be greatly appreciated!!

Took many folks about 2 days. As long as there are no hiccups or issues at interview. Our interview was on a Thursday. The visa came on that Saturday.

But just a work of advice. If booking a ticket. Book it round trip, to save money. And plan on 1 week just in case. You can always change the ticket if you have to.

Can be up to a week, but usually a few days...we had our interview when Obama was new in office and him and Hillary visited Ankara and they hd to cancel a lot of interviews and reschedule as many before the president was there and it was extremely busy place when we went...so it took a week back then in 2009...

Just recently, my husband had to go to Turkey becasue his dad died, but passport was expired and he had only an emergency passport document when he went and needed to renew while there...it took 9 days to get back to him!! They told him 3-4 days and knew he had a return ticket in 10 days...he got it just barely in time! So I dont know why it took so long! This was just a week ago....

I would suggest reading the instructions again and also read the consulate web site. I would strongly suggest not purchasing any tickets for fiancee until the Visa has been approved. It could save you a lot of unnecessary costs.
