When you go to VFS for document submission, please make a note of the following. They need another original print of the ds-230 form with part 1 signed, not a photocopy of the form you sent to NVC. Also, please note that no electronic equipment, pen drive, medicines, cosmetics, eatables, water, etc are allowed inside. There's also no locker facility available, so please make sure you dont carry any of those. Cell phones need to be switched off.

But why? what would happen to the one we sent to NVC?

Why is a good question for which even the VFS people dont have an answer, but yes, you need a fresh one with a current date submitted there. The one you sent to NVC does get to the consulate with all your other documents.

U must hav submitted all originals at NVC but do we hav to submit photocopies of all documents again b'for interview at VFS i.e copy of BC, Passport Copy, New PCC, 2 New Passport Photos ????

One thing i hav noticed that we hav to submit Medical report also at VFS and only X-Ray we need to carry at Consulate, is it so???

DS230 part 1 and 2 need to be submitted to Vfs with only part 1 signed. You'll also need to submit two passport size photographs. You need to make sure that all these documents are submitted four WORKING days prior to your interview, which means you need to exclude all saturdays and sundays and other public holidays.

Thank u very much for the information...As u mentioned "Also, if you want to personally pick up your passport from VFS, you need to request them to hold it for you"...i have heard sumthg new coz if ur visa is approved same day u can pick up from VFS Mumbai at 5:30 PM evening by showing VFS Receipt and ID Proof, than why we hav to request them to hold pick up of our passport and Visa Packet????

May be sumthg change in their procedure to deliver Passport and Visa Package....

Also can u pls mention how much did the Medicals cost u and which tests do the panel physicians conduct on us and vaccinations do they give us..????

Do we get Medical report same day or next day they provide us the Medical Report ??? What to carry during medicals i.e how many photos and do we require 2*2 size or simple passport size photos that we use in our passport ??? Is it must to carry original passport at our medicals ????

Well, Vfs tells you that you can only pick up your passport the next evening, not the same evening. As for the medicals, the base fee is Rs 1600. This covers chest x-ray, height and weight, blood pressure, eye exam, and a doctor's check. Mandatory vaccines are mmr and tdap. If you've never had chicken pox, you'll need to get that vaccine too. I had to get all three vaccines, so it cost me an additional 2600 for it. So about 4k for your medicals, unless you've a complicated report. You need to fix up an appointment in advance. You cant just walk in. You'll need to carry the original passport, interview letter, and two normal passport sized pics. They'll give you a few forms to fill out too. That's about it.

I am in F1 category and just 3-4 months behind from Interview...Hope Visa Bulletin moves fast in cumin months so that i can get an earlier Interview....

Sorry to ask... but what is VFS? Are they the ones who mail you (or your non-USC spouse) the visa in India after passing the interview? This is what I assume, though wasn't sure.

indeed it's VFS that couriers you your passport once they receive it from the consulate. Also, all documents are to be submitted to them prior to the interview.
