You need to have EVERY document in the visa application instructions that applies to you. If it doe snot apply (military papers, divorce records, marriage records, criminal records) than no worries. You need as much evidence as you can gather for proof of relationship. No such thing as too much. You need a Police Ceriticate from any country where you lived for more than 6 months after age 16 (except USA)

When you have ALL of that, you can stop being nervous. You WILL NOT stop being nervous, but you CAN stop. The interview itself lasts about 1-3 minutes and the decision is made before you get to the interview. Nothing to worry about. Just get your documents in order.

Oh, and the visa journey is only beginning. The visa is the START, not the END. The end will come in 4+ years when you become a citizen. Until then you will have these periodic interviews and decisions affecting every aspect of your future and that of your family. Great fun! Do not throw anything away.

thankyou :D the police certificate... i allready have one and i sent it to the embassy.. i think.. or i gave it to the medical center... do i actually need to take one with me?

OK it was not on your list so I mentioned it. Also all forms you need, depends on consulate but DS156, DS156K, DS230 (maybe) DS157 (maybe) The short answer is "Everything on the instructions" Probably a couple of passport photos also, get lots of them, you are going to need them!

Each consulate is different and since you have not enlightened us into which one you are using or which country you are from, I cannot give you more detailed answer. :P

In general I would never go into any interview for any reason in this process without a copy of EVERYTHING I had ever sent to them (anyone) regarding that phase of the process (petition, visa, AOS, ROC, citizenship)

So yes, take a copy
