Packet 3

Hope you guys don't mind all the questions I've had lately. :P

Once you've faxed in the first step of the K-1 Packet 3 (DS-230), do you need to wait (or do you get) confirmation that they received this portion? I'm still waiting on my fiance to complete the evidence of support (working on affadavit and getting letters from his employment/etc), but I'm not sure if there's something I need to wait for in the middle.. Or if I need to confirm that the fax went through (seems weird that Vancouver has you fax it in)?

When I did mine, I got a letter in a few business days that was Packet 4 - packet 4 was dated the day after I sent the fax. They move fast. I didn't confirm the fax, but you could email them (2 business day response from what I heard).

I probably can't expect packet 4 yet because I still need to send them the checklist, but hopefully that won't take too much longer. I've been corresponding with someone at the consulate (they are indeed quick) and mentioned that I faxed it in, hopefully they'll confirm that they received it.

Vancouver emailed me packet 4 (its basically just instructions on how to book your interview). They normally mail it to you though. I annoyed them into emailing it.

Oh, they don't confirm the DS-230. I thought you meant the whole packet 3. They will confirm by sending packet 4 via mail once they receive your checklist.

The lady I've been asking some questions to actually did confirm the DS-230 was received, about 20 minutes after I emailed her (quick!). Going to lay off the emails now, though it's only been a few. :innocent:

Just so that I'm not adding yet another thread, I was wondering what type of evidence you guys have used for evidence of support for the packet 3? I'm getting kind of worried because I still need this portion for the P3, though I have a couple of letters from my fiance's employers and he's almost completed the I-134. He won't be getting bank letters for another week or two and I wanted to get a June interview (my contract with my job is up at the end of June right now). :(

We had an employment letter confirming employment/wage/position. Tax stuff with W2s (just 2010 as my husband didn't have his 2011 taxes done at that time). And I believe around 4 to 6 recent pay stubs. We didn't bring bank stuff (not sure if it wasn't necessary or for self-employed only).

HELP

Regarding Form I-134, question 11.

11. I [ ] intend [ ] do not intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person(s) named in item 3.

(If you check "intend," indicate the exact nature and duration of the contributions, For example, if you intend to furnish room and board, state for how long and, if money, state the amount in U.S. dollars and whether it is to be given in a lump sum, weekly or monthly, and for how long).

The 'VJ example' answer: N/A ( K1 visa process for permanent residence )

Just curious what other people have answered.

Thanks everyone with all the help as I've worked through my Packet 3.. I'm about ready to send it. One last question - What happens for the following step? Do they just send me an interview date, or do I get some say? I'm really hoping to get it on a wednesday or thursday but I'm not really sure whether that is possible or not.
