Retired US/Canadian married couples applying for US PR

We are new here. I am a US citizen and my spouse is a Canadian who is applying for PR. We married in April 2011. We sent in our I-130 on Dec 9,2011 and have our DOA Dec 11, 2011. Are waiting for next step to start. My husband has been snowbirding for the last 5 years. I spent 6 months in Canada after our wedding and we returned to my PR last Nov. We are now preparing to go back to Canada to his PR and return to the US in 6 months or so. Any other retirees doing the 6 month shuffle and would like to hear your stories and tips.
