Question Regarding I 134 Form

3 posts in this topic

Recommended Posts

In 2008 I petitioned my ex fiancee but broke off the engagement prior to her interview. How do i answer these two questions 9 and 10 on the Afidavit of Support "Have I previously submitted affidavit of support for the following persons? I never had to support her as I never saw her after we broke up prior to her interview.

Many Thanks

I would say that you would say none as it was never submitted to the embassy and a visa was never issued. Did you actually send the I-134 to your ex-fiancee? The I-134 isn't as binding as the I-864 that you will have to file for the adjustment of status. The I-864 keeps you on the hook for 10 years or 40 quarters of work or the permanent resident becomes a US citizen.

That is how I interpret it..if I am wrong, please chime in and set it straight.

Yes she had all the documents. My Attorney took care of it all back then. Now I will do it myself as it is not so difficult except that one question now has me baffled. I will just state the situation with an document for them to reference as well.

Thanks
