Not sure if this is the correct place..

My fiance was recently denied a visa into the US, so I'm moving to the Philippines for a while while we get married. With the apparent prickly situation with birth control in the Philippines, I was wondering if anyone knows if my birth control pills will be confiscated if I bring them into the country? I couldn't find anything with a google search, but I found this place with the same question from a Filipina moving to the US, so I thought perhaps this would be the best place to ask?

I have traveled into the Philippines with b/c multiple times. You will be fine bringing them into the country. It's not illegal, it's just not promoted. It's the education of contraception that gets the church all riled up who then proceed to rile up all the politicians. I'm pretty sure they also have OTC brands that you can buy once you are there. No need to worry.

Sorry to hear about your denial. I hope you are able to figure everything out.

good luck.

We bought a boatload of birth control pills in the Philippines with no prescription. Just go to the pharmacy. You can buy just about anything you want without a doctor's prescription, unlike the USA where the medical industry extortionists have gotten the government to require a doctor's prescription to buy anything worth having.

Oh thank you so much for the information everyone. I want to have children with him, but we're just not at the point where it is a viable option. I have another question now though with rlogan's post. I'm diabetic and I've been tormented over how I'm going to get my insulin from North Dakota to Manila without it spoiling. Can I just buy the insulin there without a prescription or is that kind of dangerous stuff harder to get?

Have your fiance go to a pharmacy an see what they have.

I could send my nine year old sister in law to get antibiotics and pain killers. No prescription, no note - nothing. I'm sure they have insulin too, but send your fiance down to see what's there.
