When should I use each of the above? For example, on the G-325A it asks "current husband or wife (if none, so state)" so it's clear. On the the I-129F, it asks prior spouses on question 9. Should I leave this blank or put N/A? And should I put none or n/a as appropriate or only if it asks? My forms (as they are now) leave such questions blank unless it specifically asks me to put, for example, none. On a the USCIS page of general tips on assembling applications, it says "Do note enter "N/A" when "None" is appropriate." So...do I leave the blanks blank or chose the appropriate of none or n/a? Thank you.

NA means "not applicable" If you answer "NONE" for former spouses then any further questions regarding former spouses are "NA". Best to fill in all the blanks on the I-129f with something. Leaving it blank may mean you forgot to answer. If you mistakenly enter "None" when "NA" is appropriate I would not lose too much sleep over it. You can even use blue ink. :P
