After reading Athena's thread regarding Police Check in NSW and some of the issues she is having I am thinking of getting quite a head start on applying for one. My NOA2 most likely wont be for about 3 months at the very least. But I do want to have everything as ready as possible so there are no hold ups through the embassy stage.

Does anyone know how long the police check is valid for and if you need it for the AOS process or is it just for the consulate interview in Aus?

If I ordered it now, would they make me order another one if its a couple of months before I submit packet 3?

In NSW do they have the option of having it sent to you, or does it have to be sent to the Consulate direct? I just dont want to order it before getting NOA2 and having it just float around the consulate...who know where it would end up!

Thanks everyone

HI There! YES there is the option of sending it to your home address, or to another address. Which is good, but they use normal mail. and you better do it online! https://npcoapr.police.nsw.gov.au/aspx/dataentry/Introduction.aspx

With regard to the other questions, I think it's valid for one year. When I receive it i can tell you. Im hoping to get it in the mail later today.

OK I got my check in the mail!

So i suggest you to do the online way! Although getting the fingerprint done at local police can be a 'by chance' thing (In NSW at least), go in early morning i suggest, before 9am.
