Hi everyone,

I wanted to get some opinions about something. I am awaiting my NOA2 (hopefully any day now). I have gathered all of my documents needed for the upcoming NVC stage in terms of the IV and AOS packages. My husband got his poilce certificate back in January of 2012 and it will expire in April. We may get our petition adjudicated by USCIS by then (really hope so), but its possible that if we are approved by USCIS that we won't have our NVC numbers/info by that time. Can we submit the police certificate that will have expired very recently and ask that we can bring an updated one to the interview or should I just have my husband send me a new one now since we are just waiting for the NOA2 anyway? Also, my only issue with submitting the newly expired one to NVC is that I am not submitting translations and I know the expiration date on it is written in Arabic, so they won't know how to read that it's recently expired anyway. Will this fly or is it just better to get a recent one? Thanks for all responses in advance!!! :)

i would say dont give them a reason to delay your case.get new one done and if u submitting anything in other language other than English u should translate it. its your life and your relationship between their hands.

definitely u should get a new one -i know its a pain to get new one but u have to- other wise NVC will not accept it & u will see it later in their check list as a missing document. yeah about them not being able to read arabic, same concept goes with his military paper (because u dont have to translate that too), they must have way to authenticate these documents and make sure it is legitimate.

hello everyone, i have a question and im bit confused about this police certificate, seriously this making me stressed as day goes by..I've lived in 3 different part/address (since i reached 16) in my country so that this mean i have to get 3 police certificate respectively???? PLS HELP..thanks

The police certificate is per country. You only need ONE from the country you reside in.

No translations are required. Either English OR the oficial language where the interview will be held. I've made sure of this. I don't get how they read the documents but I have made sure about this point. The only translation I have is for my marriage certificate since it was needed for the I130.
