Hi everyone,

This is something I always wanted to know....how important is the priority date? What does it do for you? I´ve been curious about it for a while now...I wonder if it can help me speed things up at the consulate.

07/29/2014 Yellow Letter Received

09/05/2014 Interview letter Received

10/07/2014 Interview

10/17/2014 Received email/text that oath has been scheduled

Alix,

Priority Date is the petition date for which visas in categories that have quotas are now available.

Marriage-based visas do not have quotas, so visas are always immediately available, and the Priority Date is always current.

Not an issue for you.
