just frusturated and confused as to why i get no communication from them. should i be calling daily to see if pack4 has been sent?i want to book asap obviously..do i actually need my hands on of pack#4?? help...lol

Yes, you should be calling DOS daily to see if pkt 4 has been logged. As soon as it's logged you can book an interview. Packet 4 itself is not that remarkable- it's just a letter that tells you to go the CSC website to book an interview, so no need to physically receive it first.

I know it's frustrating that there is so little communication, but on the bright side, there are no interviews available and haven't been any for weeks now, so you're really not missing anything. Keep calling DOS every day. As soon as they tell you P4 is sent, get on the website and start checking for interviews!

You need to know that P4 has been sent by Montreal in order to book the interview.

My P4 letter showed up via Canada Post about 7 days after DOS told me that it was sent. (My P3 letter actually showed up a week after that - even though it was mailed out 2 weeks prior.)

My pack 3 still hasnt shown up..It was mailed Dec14. We found out mid-Jan it had been sent. We just got pack3 in bc fiance has been on the road a ton this season.

Neither of us recieved an email we both checked our emails and our junk email and the email they said was sent stating we were missing a paper never arrived.

I will call again today and everyday im off till I get an answer I guess. I just worry it wont show before the medical or interview.

P4 is nothing. Its instruction page on how to book the interview on the website. Basically shredder food.

The only thing you will need is to show at your medical is the notice for your interview at the consulate. All the content of Packet 3 and 4 can be found online on the consulate's website here (upper right): http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/visas/visas/fianc-k-1-visas.html

Yeah... I have read the guides, and the Montreal Web site, and the USCIS Web site, and every other source I can find for info, and I'm still confused. There's a lot of conflicting data out there.

The Dr. Seiden (Toronto) web site says you can make an appointment: If you are a fiancé and have a letter from the consulate but no appointment date and have been instructed to obtain a medical examination.

So, if you don't have an interview booked yet (to have an interview letter), you must need the P4... or *something*, no?

I believe they mean the packet 3. At least, back when I did my medical in 2009, I just showed the cover page of the packet 3 and it was fine. They just wanted to see something with your case number. I'm not sure if this has changed however.

When I made an appointment with Dr. Seiden's they asked for packet 3 or 4, however you wouldn't be the first person to go there without either of those things. They just need to see your case number and some sort of proof that you have an interview or will be scheduling an interview at Montreal soon. When you schedule an interview on the CSC website you will get a confirmation page with your case number and interview date and this should work in place of packet 3/4. You wouldn't want to schedule a medical exam before you have an interview date set anyways.

If you are unsure you can try calling or e-mailing them (they tend to respond quickly to e-mails) explaining your situation.
