Hahahaha I saw NO festivities for Eid al Adha. That was the most uneventful big holiday ever. I have better Eid here in the states. Maybe in Cairo it's different though. Maybe the festivities he's talking about are the sacrificing of the animals. Blood in the streets..yuck! Thank God I was in the house all day and didn't go out until evening when most (not all) of the blood was washed away. I did have to walk under corpses of animals hanging and dripping blood. Oh yeah FUN festivities.

Eid al Adha or Eid al Fitr here is really how you make it. In the past I would get together with other ladies and have a party at home. Usually the first day of Eid we take the kids to Chuck E. Cheese in Dearborn or Ann Arbor since there is a large Muslim/Arab community in these cities. The second day is usually the mens' day and they all go to a certain family's home and have dinner while the women take care of the cooking and kids. The third day is womens' day and the women gather and either cook or order out and the men take all the kids. It's really nice.
