Hello,

My wife and I sent in our I-130 petition and looking over the form I notice I may have answered a question wrong. For question #17 I stated "none" because I understood the question as her husband and children and I didn't state my name because I as he husband filled it on the first page. Anyways, will this be a problem for us? Thank you for any help.

The petitioner's name and information appears in #17 for spouse petition because they are the foreign relative's spouse. This is a common error. Don't expect any RFE or other issue because of it. In the future, remember that the USC is the petitioner AND the beneficiary's spouse, so their information goes in multiple places on many forms.

Hello,

Thank you for the response. Looking at the question now I see my error and I admit I was a little worried. My thinking at the time when I filled it out was,"Is there anyone else involved in the petition other than my wife and me?" We don't have any children together or our selves and to me the saying "none" seemed correct. Anyways, thank you again.

On my own G325a, I indicated I had no spouse, even though I was filing an I-130 for spouse. It was no problem. They are accustomed to dealing with such errors.
