NVC sends you a letter with the KEV number on it. When the embassy gets the packet they will send her a letter with the KEV number on it. After you get your NOA2 then you can call NVC and get the KEV number, but there really is no need. I did because I am here in Ukraine with my fiancee and I don't get my mail here. Goto this site for the embassy http://ukraine.usembassy.gov/visa-forms.html It tells you everything you need to know for what she needs for the embassy. Just follow the instructions. Once you obtain the KEV number then she can call the embassy to see if the packet has arrived there. Just remember that you have to purchase a PIN and it costs $12 for 8 minutes. If they have received the packet, and she can call before she receives the letter, they will schedule her for the interview. Good Luck! I will let everyone know how our interview goes this Thursday.

I didn't use a lawyer so I am not sure what you get for what you paid for. I know you will have to send her I-134 and all the items that back up your financials to her. Just follow the instructions on what you need. As far as the embassy, my fiancee's interview is this Thursday and will let you know more after. I am going with her. I hear that I can be with her. We'll see.

You need to send the documents for the I-134 and most likely a lot of the proof of relationship. Send them to your fiancee, she will take them to the interview. She will need to get the police certificate and her birth certificate and any other documents she needs from Ukraine.

Costs for sending documents are a mere trifling compared to what the process costs.

Self employed need to provide last years personal income tax return (they go by line 22 of the 1040 for your income) bank statments or bank letter to prove deposits.

The problem with client letters is they represent income to the BUSINESS, not to you. Only YOUR income counts, businesses do not sponsor immigrants.

Kiev allows you to go to the interview. I walked right up to the window with Alla.

If you let a lawyer anywhere near this you are nuts. Do it yourself. Yes you can go to the interview in Kiev.
