Hi all,

I've been reading the K1 guide/flowchart and posts since Aug 2011, I finally got the letter from NVC that my petition has been sent to Manila US Embassy on Feb 2, 2012 and I have the MNL number. Based from the flowchart, Manila US Embassy is suppose to send the DS-156K forms to my fiance. I followed up today in Manila and they told me there is a new procedure. My Beneficiary is suppose to download the forms online and call the "Call Center" to schedule an interview date after paying the K1 visa fee. On the date of the interview is when my fiance will be bring all the forms and requirements. I've looked at the Manila Embassy website and USTraveldocs.com for clarification and it confused me more. It says that there is an online form that you fill up instead.

I'm confused which route is correct. I've learned a lot on this site about the K1 process and I thought I got it all down. Has anyone here done the K1 visa to Manila beneficiary lately?

This is the link to USEM.

The fiancee can go to any branch of BPI and pay the visa fee ($350.00) then she (or you) will be able to set up the interview online at the USEM. Click here for the page to set up the interview. It will take a few hours or more before you will be able to set up the interview, just keep trying and eventually you'll be able to do so. The receipt she'll get at the time of payment of the visa fee is so very important, you'll need that receipt later and when schedule the interview online, or just the passport number when registering to set up the interview. She'll also need to have her passport with her at the time of payment at BPI.

Once you (or your fiance) have completed that, now she can register online for the medical at St. Luke's, registering online will save time on the day of the medical. This is the link to the page where you can read about what is required for the medical. Also click here to read a detailed medical exam review as experienced by a VJ member.

Before or after your interview at USEM, your fiancee will need to attend a CFO seminar, after which she'll get a certificate and get a sticker placed in her passport. If the seminar is done before the visa is issued, the fiancee will get a certificate, then she must return with that certificate, her passport and visa so the sticker can be placed in the passport. Attending the seminar and getting the sticker is mandatory before she can exit the country. Here the link to the CFO website, there you can read what you need to know about the seminar, the documents you need before you can attend.

P.S. Download all forms (and instructions for the forms) directly from USCIS or the USEM websites.

Please correct me if I'm wrong from what I understand from your post

1. Manila US Embassy don't mail forms to beneficiary anymore. >> True

2. You can skip calling the "Call Center" for interview appointment.(You can setup appointment online). >> True

3. No need to mail back completed forms and requirements to Manila US Embassy. (Bring all documents on the day of the interview) >> True

4. DS-156 and D-156K need to be filled up on paper. (There is no online DS156/DS156K forms) >> True

That link you are handing out for USEM is not for the K-1 visa.
