Help with K1 Visa Medical Examination Center

hello all,

I have applied for a K1 Visa for my fiance and got an approval notice. for Packet IV I have to get medical test results but I am in a difficult situation where I need further guidance from anyone.

K1 Visa appointment was scheduled at Mumbai US consulate and my fiance resides in Andhra Pradesh. here is where I am confused.

1) Can she get medical examinations from Chennai US consulate approved doctor here in Hyderabad, AP?

2) Will Mumbai US consulate accept the test results from Chennai US consulate approved doctor?

3) Can we go to local VFS office at Hyderabad, AP and submit all necessary documents there or do we need to go to Mumbai and submit all documents at Mumbai VFS office?

4) we know that the interview was scheduled but we haven't received Visa Interview appointment letter from Mumbai US consulate. does any one know how long it takes for the appointment letter to reach Hyd, AP?

Any guidance is much appreciated?

1 - Yes, she can get the medical done in Hyd ( even interview is in Mumbai )

2 - Yes

4 - I dont know. If you have e-mail for interview confirmation, then it should be fine.

My fiance and I never received Packets 3 & 4 even though Mumbai claims they sent them. Packet 3 you can get off their website, which I'm sure you're aware of. Packet 4 will be emailed to you - by request only - if you have not received it in the mail within 15 days of your interview. You must contact them and ask them to send electronically. Good Luck!

any ideas whom I need to contact for appointment letter via email?

its very strange, I haven't received Packet 3 at all... I had to download them from their website and send it to them (they might be lazy over there) its very frustrating.

Well, like I said we never received Packets 3 or 4 either. It was super frustrating to try and talk to them too! Some people were saying you couldn't deliver everything to them in person and only email them P3 and then we heard the opposite - you must take it there and not email it --- really frustrating. We tried to email it and we never heard anything. We finally ended up sending via courier and we had to call the DOS to find out it got accepted finally! Calling the VFS wasn't much help either and when my fiance dropped everything off according to Mumbai's instructions, they called him back 2 more times to submit other things and they were wrong! He finally got it straightened out but it was a real hassle because he was approximately one hour from VFS and you know Mumbai traffic! Good Luck!

"Please send your emails to MumbaiIV@state.gov using the subject line “Request for Specific Information.” We will respond to your inquiry as quickly as possible."
