Hello

I have a problem.

I went to the Social Security office to update my status today. (When i applied for SSC last year, i had'nt had my GC yet. I only had EAC. and my SSC says `Valid for work only with DHS authorization`.) The officer said that my name on the record doesn't match with my GC. so he must verify the documents i gave him with the Federal office. and this may take up to 4 weeks.

He said my middle name is put as my last name by USCIS.

it looks like the record has my maden name...I don't know why it happening. because my GC and EAC has correct name which is the name after marriage.

Can i just call USCIS to verify and correct my name? i am wondering if i need to fill out some paper for this and if it will cost. i believe i didn't make a mistake in my paper work when i applied for GC.

Please advise me if someone had same problem.

Thank you,

If you changed your name ex. your last to middle and last name of husband - and it shows that on green card. We did that and even though we had green card the computers had not updated and had to wait about a week for the new card.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.
