I have a couple of questions about the AOS process just to be sure I know what my options are versus consular processing of the green card:

  1. Once I485 is sent to Chicago, how do you know where you will go for the biometric appt (which local office)?
  2. The package that you're given once the K3 Visa was approved, once you enter the US, where is this sent?
  3. Would Chicago (or wherever the AOS is processed) get a copy of the medical done in your home country? or do you have to get a copy from the Doctor and submit it with your app?
  4. Do you download a copy of the form used for the immunization record, and have your Doctor complete this, or is it generated and sent to you when needed?

Thanks guys.

Hi Abena

I did the K3 to AOS thing. My local office was Santa Ana (as I live in Orange county, CA, it was less than 10 miles away so I was lucky. You should be able to find your local office on the USCIS webite)

The k3 package ends up at the local office at interview time. I presume that when you apply for AOS as apposed to continuing with the CR-1, the embassy forwards all the information to the local office, but I am sure someone will else will confirm how this works. The important thing is they have all your information.

They do get a copy of the medical (assuming nothing gets lost of course, in our case, no problems)

I used the vaccination record forms from the K3 medical as well and wasn't asked for any further verified vaccination records even though my son had had two further injections.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do :)

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .
