what happens if I add the name of my wife to my credit cards. I have very good credit history. Will this impact my credit history in any way? Will this help her establish a better credit history automatically?

Will this be a good thing to show that we live together and prove later on during the chage of conditional green card. Thankx

She will be either just an authorized user or she can be jointly responsible for the account as well depending on how you add her.

Only if she is a jointly responsible and you are late in payments and the account goes late or unpaid.

Will this help her establish a better credit history automatically?

I know when I added my husband to one account and we did a credit report recently it shows him on the account and the account in good standing for more months than he has been in the USA. So it should help her to start a credit history.

Yes, it will be good proof of mixed assets or bills once you file to lift conditions. When you file to lift conditions they want you to show that you are a couple with mixed bills and assets, letters from friends, cards, and any other proof of legitimate marriage.

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.
