Embassy Stage Forms & Documentation

I'm starting a checklist of all the forms and evidence that I need to gather for the Embassy stage so when the time comes we are ready.

Reading the Embassy site Stage One states that the DS-156K must be filled out and sent by the principal applicant. Amongst the documents listed to be attached are evidence of financial support, birth certificate and police certificates.

At the interview stage it states that I must also bring original documents/certified copies (including police certificate, birth certificate and I-134) plus photocopies of each.

Does this mean that I need two original copies of the I-134 plus supporting evidence - One to be sent at Stage One and the other to be brought to interview?

Here's my short version explanation--

Instructions are here http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

There's 3 basic steps.

  1. Fill out DS-156, DS-156K, DS-157, DS-230 Part 1 (page one and 2 only).Embassy webpage tells which to do in duplicate. Mail those to the embassy. Forms only, no evidence, documents, passport photos.
  2. Order your police certificate, get your shots, make a medical appointment. Take shot record and police certificate to medical.
  3. Gather all documents for the interview and get them in hand. list http://london.usembassy.gov/application_documents.html. Then notify Embassy that you've done everything and are ready to interview by sending in the form DS-2001.

From the instruction page there are many links on the left about the medical, courier, interview, visa fees, FAQs. Sometimes there will be links from those pages on the right for more information. Read ALL of the links.

Thank you as always Nich-Nick for your insight and tolerance of my continual questions  Trying to get all my ducks in a row so when the time comes we aren't held up because I forgot a sheet of paper
