My wife and stepson are in the US now, we've just received a few letters in the mail, I797C, Notice of Action giving us their A-numbers. Now what? I've looked through the guides, I figure we have to file for AOS, but it mostly refers to K3 visas. I know the information is out there, I'm just having a hard time finding it! How to I obtain a green card? How do I get them SS numbers? Thank you!

CR-1 / Ir-1 do not file AOS. They get their green card in the mail.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Also, when you filled out I-130, there was box to check if you wanted them to recieve ss number. It said to you give permission for USCIS to share the info with the ss admin. I believe it is automatic if you checked the box. Also, check here: http://www.ssa.gov/ssnvisa/.

Regards,

Magnus
