i picked up my packet yesterday at the Accra embassy and my interview date is not until late April 2012. i got my NOA2 on Nov 15th and my case was completed at NVC around late November 2011. this sucks i thought things were moving faster nowadays at this embassy, but i guess its still pretty slow. i was really hoping for a sooner interview date. i am really upset and sad about this...actually more sad!!! :crying::angry:

We have similar timelines and we got our interview letter from NVC and it is January 24th our letter was dated November 30th. Maybe it is faster if you get it from NVC. I wonder if you can call and get a better date? I was told by the operator that they get a block of dates from the Embassy by the 16th of the month.

I waited for 12 months and there are folks here who had to wait for over 13 months. Considering your timeline, this is a huge improvement!

Did you have to wait over 13 months for an interview date or 13 months for the whole process?

I had to wait for 12 months just to be scheduled for interview! There are folks here going through Accra who had to wait for 15 months. 12 months was the minimum wait time for CR1/IR cases! It's unbelievable but it's true. Folks here sent out a bunch of letters to senators, congressmen/women and other avenues just to deal with this 'injustice' and I'm glad it paid off. Now, no one has to wait that long to get scheduled. My wife was interviewed by CNY and a few days after the news was aired, I was scheduled for interview. There has been a tremendous improvement!

Jarta,

I think you are doing good timewise. we had to wait 18months before our interview. Also it appears that they try to schedule the appointment either close to or a few months after the 2yr anniversary if you are CR1 so your visa will be stamped IR1.
