I have 2 questions. Could you please answer.

1. On Medical documents.

------------------------

Does the Medical center send documents to Mumbai Consulate

or

Do we need to give medical records to VFS so that VFS gives it to Mumbai Consulate

or

Do we need to hand carry on the day of the interview.

2. Telugu to English translator

--------------------------------

My wife can't speak English. Does Mumbai consulate provide Telugu to English translator or Do we need to request a translator on the day of the interview or before at the Mumbai consulate.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I am also due for interview at the Mumbai consulate. I checked with the VFS & they told us that the medical docs need not be submitted to the VFS & the candidate has to take it with them for the interview. If you are submitting the documents at Mumbai VFS, the same has to be done 7 days before the interview else 10 days prior, if submitting in your city.

I was given the VFS helpline # 0120 - 6611411.

This info was given to me by the VFS Bangalore office.

Hope this helps !!!

It may not be assured to get the Telugu translator in Mumbai. But does she know Hindi? It is very important for her to learn the English. Without that, she may not be able to apply for citizenship.

Thanks swamsh. We are planning to submit the documents to VFS on Jan 19th if the medical report is ready by that time. Medical appointment is on Jan 17 & 18th. That will leave us 9 business days. I also sent an email to Hyderabad VFS to see whether this time is enough. I think I will get the email back on Monday. If they that is not enough, we will submit the documents with out medical and hand carry them to interview.

Thanks iwaiting. She doesn't know Hindi. I sent an email to Mumbai consulate and they sent an email saying they have translators to translate from telugu. I am also preparing her for english interview. Hopefully we will get a translator on that day to make things easy.

That is great! Glad to see that they have Telugu translator. Seems like this is progress in their new Embassy office.

I read one review on VJ, and that person had interview in Chennai in 2006, and he knew the Telugu and he couldn't get any Telugu translator in Chennai Embassy. I believe how hard it would be for CO and that person to communicate and deal with each other. But good thing was that he was approved. As he mentioned he mostly answered the things in yes/no, and very little short answer ( little english & telugu mixing ).
