Hi,

We are a little over the 5 month point, just waiting for the NOA2. I'm trying to prepare ahead of time. I was wondering if anyone could answer some questions about co-sponsoring. I do not make enough $ and need a co-sponsor...my grandfather is willing to sponsor but he is 83 years old...he has more than enough assets, but do they discriminate against age due to the fact that sponsorship ends upon death of sponsor? I know it is an unpleasant question but I also have a family friend willing to help out as a sponsor...would that be a safer sponsor than my grandfather? Also both sponsors are retired but do have more than enough asses to cover us and the rest of their families. My friend was actually brought here by a fiance visa 25 years ago, I'm not sure if that matters either. I guess I'm just a little confused as to who i should use and when I will need to send in the I-134 and the I-864 or I864a...can I turn them all in at once and speed up the process? Just trying to cover all the bases...any help would be greatly greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'm not sure whether or not they will discriminate against age when it comes to co sponsors for the I-134 and I-864. you can't get ahead by sending them all at once. the I-134's need to be submitted to the US embassy before/at visa interview and the I-864's will need to be submitted when the beneficiary does AOS. Don't forget that even though you don't earn enough you still need to fill out the I-134 and I-864 when it comes time because you are the petitioner.

Finally time for AOS.......
