Visa process for child of immigrant already in USA

Hello everyone,

My wife is already in USA with a CR-1 visa (soon to be permanent green card) and has a 8 year daughter still in China. We will apply for her visa this next year.

Does anyone know the visa process for the daughter?

Will she have to have an interview in Guangzhou?

Thank you for your help.

YOU, the USCITIZEN, will file an I-130 on the child to USCIS. Sometime can ask for expedite, as well, since Mom is already here.

Also, use EP at NVC when going through the document intake.

Ultimately, the child will receive a CR-2 visa (maybe an IR-2, if you two had been married more than 2 years by interview day for the child)

Be sure to load in the I-130 submittal:

--photos over time, from birth to yesterday, of the mother and child together

--permission letter from the father giving her permission to immigrate to USA

--COPY of white book divorce decree on yer lass and her former spouse, listing the 'foster arrangement' on the child.
