Is this a good thing?

I'm in the military and recently sent off my I-130 form/package. It was received in California on 9 December. I received my NOA1 on 12 December. I applied to have my case expedited for military reasons.

On the 21st I called the military help line to ensure my request for the case to be expedited was being given the proper consideration. On the 21st (the same day I called) I received an email from the California office telling me that I was missing a part of one of the documents I sent. I responded by faxing (as instructed to do) what was needed.

My question is: Is this a good thing? It seems that if 11 days after my package was received they are reviewing it and letting me know what I'm missing it must be a good thing. For a process that normally takes 5/6 months, it seems like the standard would be a little more than 11 days that someone would get a notice of something like that.

Just wondering and trying to figure out if my package is getting the priority requested based on military duty.

It may be, it may not be. No one can exactly tell you unless you get the letter saying request for expedite approved.

Having said that if you do get expedited through USCIS you have to continue the expedite on your own, it does not follow through to the NVC or to the US embassy.

Our case was approved in 5 days to what we believe was our request for military expedite but we didn't get any notice saying thats what it was. Had to follow through with each step making sure they continued the expedite. When it reaches the US embassy they can choose to continue the expedite or not at their own discretion.

I will hope for the best, 5 days that would be WONDERFUL! Will wait and see what is going on, give it a few weeks and then check back.

BTW, I fax what the requested, is there a way to make sure they received the fax? Will they send some type of letter/email saying the information was received as requested?
