Wonderful. iwaiting, you've been a great help. Cheers and God bless!

#1 - It is not passport clearance certificate but a police clearance certificate that you require.

#2 - Check the timeframe to get PCC in your location based on your case. Once you get NOA2, then apply for PCC right away. Because it takes around 3 to 4 weeks to get your NVC case number. Lets say if interview takes some time or whatever, but your PCC will remain valid.

#3 - yes, it is valid for 6 months.

#4 - If passport is same as your current address, you just require: Old passport in original with self-attested photocopy of its first two and last two pages including ECR/Non-ECR page and page of observation (if any).

to get PCC. Plus it solely depend up to your location officials. If they are ease, then things would be easier.

 Q's

1) Did you apply online before going to PSK center?

2) I guess the reason for doing this is so that PCC would be ready when you go to pick up, correct?

3) If you did apply online, did you select Step (d1) or (d2) from my below steps?

4) Whats difference between the two online steps: (d1) Vs (d2)?

One is: "I want to fill and submit my Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) application online"

The other one is: "I want to submit Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) application through e-form"

Steps:

a) On this link: http://passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/locatePSK/locatePFCInp

b) Click on "Apply for Police Clearance Certificate" : http://passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/online/applyForPcc

c) Click on "How to Apply"

d) Apply Online

d1)Procedure for filling and submitting Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) application

online

d2) Procedure for Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) e-Form submission

Thank you iwaiting !

#1 - It is must to fill the application online before visiting to PSK. It should be done 1 day in advance.

#2 - No, it doesnt make your PCC ready in advance. But they only would make it ready when you get there. PSK is very fast decision, and so they can make quick decision. PCC/Tatkal Passport applications take little longer waiting in PSK since they do have to same day decision, so they gets little busy to process application. Such applications get the token number starting with " W ". It is better to go early morning appointment, so things will move more faster.

#3 - For PCC, I used the option d2, and for re-issue my passport, I used option d1. Either way, use whatever you like.

#4 - d1 is like you are filling the application online, it is good for those have high speed Internet, and dont have any disconnect problem. And d2 is an option that you fill the application offline, but you still have would have to upload it online. Whatever you fill the form, and when you save the data, then it will be exported in XML format. After that when you upload it online, then system will read the XML data to complete your form online. Either way, use whatever looks easier to you.

Yes, whatever steps you have mentioned, all are correct. Just bring the supportive doc based on your case, and of course, dont hesitate to call their customer care. They are helpful. For PCC, there is a fee of Rs 500 INR and it can be paid cash when you get there. All fees would be paid at COUNTER " A ".

Hope it helps.

1) So we can fill the online app exactly only 1 day in advance? is there limit? I guess during the online app, we can include the date of appointment...

2) So is it Rs.500 for 2 copies of PCC Letters? are we allowed to ask for more just to be safe down the road?

Thanks again, I appreciate all your help

Lots of info here Wow...just trying to get ready before we actually have to go through with this so that we are not clueless Haha

#1 - You can fill the application any time, but it must be at least One Day in advance. Getting appointment date can be little challenged as they have high traffic, and they run out appointments within 10-20 min every evening when they make it live at 6 pm. You can try to get appointment date, and see if it meets with your timeline, or just go to their office without appointment, but just make sure, that particular office will allow PCC without appointment. So call customer care for this.

#2 - Rs 500 INR is the fee for PCC. I personally asked 5 copies for PCC, they were shocked, then I said, give me at least 2 copies. They said, okay! :)
