I am in 3rd month of K1 visa petition. I want to get the paperwork gather when the day comes to go for my fiance's medical exam and interview. What kind of police certificate is acceptable for the interview? One from local philippine police or one from the NBI? I ask because the NBI clearance is far for my fiance in Manila for new applicants where as the the local police is on 30 minutes away. Thanks for any information!

NBI clearance... the medical and interview will be in Manila... she can do it after the medical or allow an extra day to get the NBI clearance.

The police clearance is only needed if she resided abroad for at least 6mos. It actually meant police clearance from abroad.

NBI is a national police record already so local police clearance is not necessary.

Also when you tell your fiancee to get an NBI, it should be "for travel abroad" because there's different types of NBI clearance :P

Where is the nearest NBI location near Pateros? I heard the they remove the NBI satellite office from the Pasig City Hall. Any suggestions?

If she has very ordinary name she has to go to the main office because of the namesakes. Pateros isn't that far to Manila. It only looks far because of the traffic.
