Is it true that embassy cant hold passport?

My husband had visa interview in the beginning of this month. He did not get visa on same day due to missing some documents. We got call from embassy saying that they received the document that they requested from my husband. Now my husband will go to VFS and submit his passport. What my question is,after embassy gets my husband passport, how long can they hold it? I don't think they will ask anymore documents. We submitted whatever they requested. Do they process on visa very next day and send back to us in 3 or 4 days? Or is it something not predictable?

it depends hmmm but usually it take 1-2 weeks to get your passports..

my passports are still with the embassy i sended them in September and i m gonna get it

when my prority date gonna come then they gonnna issue me the visa... Insha-ALLAH !

You will get your passport soon (they don't take that long)... Good luck
