Hello all. I've been reading through these boards for a few months now and will hopefully filing my I-29F in a few months after my divorce is finalized. In the meantime I have a few questions as I start to pull together all the information for my submittal.

I know there will be a couple red flags in my submittal so I want to try to address up front. The first is our age difference of 20 years, I'm afraid I can't grow younger (I'm 48) and she can't grow older (she's 29) so I don't think there is anything we can do about it, it's just the fact. The second red flag that I would appreciate advice on is the fact that we meet before I was divorced and before I was separated. I don't need any ediorial comments regarding morality or other issues, I was in a failed marriage and it wouldn't have mattered either way, it is what it is! So now my question, how much information should I give regarding my recent divorce. I plan on including a timeline and proof of ongoing relationship that is very extensive. By the time I file the application we would have met more than 10 times since our first meeting in early 2011, I will have been to Vietnam no less than 5 times and we will have spent over 120 days together. This will all be substantiated with pictures, airplane boarding passes, passport stamps, etc. There is no doubt this is a bonifide long term relationship, but I want to make sure I address that fact that we met prior to my separation.

1) Just fill in the blanks on the form and include a copy of my divorce decree and leave it as is.

Sorry, I hit the wrong button and submitted prior to finish and for some reason it wouldn't let me edit. Here's the entire post.

Hello all. I've been reading through these boards for a few months now and will hopefully filing my I-29F in a few months after my divorce is finalized. In the meantime I have a few questions as I start to pull together all the information for my submittal.

My significant other is Vietnamese and I know there will be a couple red flags in my submittal so I want to try to address up front. So here are a couple options I was thinking:

1) Just fill in the blanks on the form and include a copy of my divorce decree and leave it as is.

2) Create a timeline of my recent relationship. Showing when my marriage started to fail, when I separated

and include supporting documentation such as hotel receipts when I moved out, contract for my apartment, etc.

Or is there a better approach?

Also, how many pictures should I include. As I mentioned we have meet more than 10 times and I was planning on including 4 or 5 pictures from each meeting. I have included pictures with her family, my coworkers, etc. etc.

Thanks in advance for all the help.

Read through the VH regional for posts regarding recent divorces... the fact that we met long before we filed but filed just after divorce was ahuge red flag that put us in AP for a long time....

Just our of curiousity if you don't mind sharing how long did you know your wife before you filed? I'm guessing you met before you were divorced? How many times did you meet and for how long, what kind of documentation did you have? And finally how soon after your divorce was final did you file?

A year after we me we filed... 2 months after D.. I made several trips as I am there often, teaching... spent a month with my son and her traveling through VN and then to Singapore... plenty of documentation, but the fact of being married when meeting was a huge red flg..
