Hi, I have a quick query.. I have a gf in the United States and she just said, "YES" when I asked her to be my girlfriend. Now, we are talking about marrying. Iam 25, she is 21. She plans to visit me here in the Philippines on January 2012. How soon can she file a petition for me? When is the fastest time to file it? Can she file it right after she returns to US? and about the documentation. We are just using SMS, viber (iphone) and skype. How can we provide proof that we are communicating with each other?

I hope you can help me out. Thank you very much!

Now you're talking about marrying her...congratulations! All you need to do is meet her in person. When she goes back to the US she can start filling out the documents and she can also bring the ones you need to sign when she comes to visit you. Take lots of pictures and send tangible mails. The wait between NOA1 and NOA2 (about 3-5mos) is pretty long and gives you more time to collect proof of ongoing relationship for your Embassy interview. I'd suggest the K1 process since you and her just met online thru your sister. Oh, it might be considered a red flag since you met through a relative of yours so be careful with that. Good luck!

Not wishing to sound like a killjoy but you have to put yourself in the postion of an immigration officer. I don't know your background story but it seems you've not yet met but you repeatedly say you love her? To an IO this might seem a little forced. This CAN happen, falling in love over a distance, I felt very much in love with my fiance before we met, but we'd been online friends for over a year and would not admit our feelings nor make real plans until we met as marriage is a serious business. For this reason, if you have NOT met in person yet, I would advise Not getting engaged until you DO meet. To an immigration officer that might look a bit suspicious and unnecessarily hurried. Not only that, but meeting someone can make a world of difference. I knew a couple who were 'involved' virtually for a couple of years, they then met and found they had zero chemistry. tread carefully and do things right,....there is really no rush.

Yours is a similar post to mine, albeit much more in depth. i find it not surprising that it is us guys in the west that have cynical views on such posts and very limited relationships. like I said in my previous post how do you possibly know if you love someone that you havent even met let alone marry them. I would hazzard a guess that it may have something to do with the third world country that you live in and would like to escape to a better life. Rather than you love for this person.

This site is great but but it amazes me how many ignore the elephant in the room!!
