Just a silly question....

I read on the London Embassy info page that when a visa is approved, it takes anywhere from 24 hrs to 1 week for the beneficiary to receive it. Does it ever take longer than that????

The reason I ask is that my fiance had his interview in London on the 8th of November, and he was a approved. With the above information in mind, I went ahead and booked his flight to the US for November 20th, thinking that I was giving ample time for the visa to arrive. As of today, he still has not received his visa, and so he called the Embassy. They told him it could take 10 days before they send it to the courier. I'm not sure if that means just 10 days, or if it means 10 BUSINESS days. At any rate...I'm feeling just a slight bit of panic today in thinking that I may have jumped the gun in booking his flight for the 20th.

If you have received your K-1 visa from the Embassy in London, I would love to know about your experience.

Thanks!!

Hey there, given he was at the London embassy could you ask him/her what documents were asked for when he/she was at the embassy.

I am down in London shortly for my own interview and was just curious, mainly to find out if they asked for all the document they had listed on the site as requirement for the interview.

It may be worth having him/her confirm that the embassu has the correct address because it would only take a letter in the wrong place or a wrong number in the postcode to send it awry. I am surprised it has even taken them this long to get the visa to him.

Yes they want all the documents listed on the London embassy website that apply to you. If you don't have prison records, then not expected to bring that. No divorces? Then cross off divorce decree. If you sent documents to the NVC already, then you can't bring anything but photocopies to the interview. If you filled in your profile with the visa applied for, we could give a better answer.

It may be worth having him/her confirm that the embassu has the correct address because it would only take a letter in the wrong place or a wrong number in the postcode to send it awry. I am surprised it has even taken them this long to get the visa to him.

Doesn't matter what address the embassy has. At the embassy, you will write down on a courier form where you want your visa delivered. It could be McDonald's as long as you would be present to receive it.
