Hi there!

I have been reviewing these forums on VJ for quite some time and have learned so much from reading all the different posts. The support on VJ is outstanding! I also have been reading the "calling everyone going through new delhi, chennai ,mumbai, consulate" and other older forums. On one of my last posts it was recommended I start a thread specifically for Mumbai, so here it is. :help:

So far most everything on our process has been smooth until it got to the consulate. When my fiance received his Packet 3 instructions, he received it for a K3 not a K1. We both e-mailed the consulate and we did get a response quickly. A new K1 Packet 3 was being mailed and he could go to their web-site for these SAME instructions.

We both did go to the web-site and saw they were asking for a DS-156. However when he got the instructions in the mail, they asked for a DS-230. He was going to go ahead and just complete both and send a letter and a copy of both instructions noting the difference. Today he called and luckily got through and was told he only needed to send the DS-156. Packet 4 asks for the DS-230 and DS-156k.

Well, hopefully things will start going a little more smooth now. I know....one can always hope....

We are just starting this part of the journey! I know each consulate is so different, so I thought it might be good to have a forum specifically for Mumbai. Anyone who can share their experiences would be greatly appreciated by me and probably all future filers. :help:

Thanks!!
