Hi there Vjers!!

I had my interview today in Montreal and I was approved. First of all, I've been on this site for the past 11 months. And, you guys were a great help.

I arrived at the consulate at 6:30am and I was the second person in line.

A few things that I did wrong was:

- Even after reading numerous times that the x-ray report is not necessary from the medical since it's HUGE and they never ask for it, I panicked when I saw other people carrying it in their hands. And, somebody even said "Oh they will collect it!!" So I decided to go back to the hotel and grab it just in case they would ask. When I got back to the consulate, the people were nice enough to give me back my #2 spot. My suggestion: If you are worried about the size, just fold it in half and carry it with you. Even if they don't collect it (the chances are very high) at least you will be all calm and not panick like me!!

- I carried a bag the size of an 8 by 11 letter size paper held vertically (It was a small bag that could only fit a binder). I wasn't allowed to enter the consulate until I put it away. So, I found a coffee shop and asked them if they will hang on to it. And, the lady didn't even ask any questions and agreed (I guess others might have done the same in the past). Because of this I was probably person #30 to enter the building. My suggestion: Please carry a cloth bag (grocery bag) and avoid all the stress. Even though the cloth bag was bigger than the one I brought, it was allowed to be taken inside. I guess because it has no zippers in side.

In the end when I walked into the building. There were about 30 people sitting close to the elevator. I saw an empty spot right next to the elevator. When the security guard called up all immigrant visa applicants to go up the elevator. I was the second one to enter the elevator and I went right to the back of the elevator. The elevator door opens from the other side (thanks to a VJer, I knew this!!). When I got up to the 19th floor, I turned left, and got a slip:C3!!!

After this it was smooth sailing. I was called up three times.

- First time: to give my passport, medical report, NO X-ray report (I even asked if he wanted it), finger prints

- Second time: he had my packet 3 docs in front of him and he wanted me to verify if everything was correct. I asked him to change my fiance's home address and home telephone as he moved a month ago. He collected a few more documents: tax papers (please photocopy all of it, since they take the W2s and the rest of the tax papers. I read on this forum that they are only interested in W2 which is not true, they'll keep all the docs.), original birth certificate, translation of the birth certificate, i134

- third time: the interview part. He asked me to take an oath. I had to answer some general questions: How we met, who proposed, when are we getting married, if I was ever denied entry in the states. While I answered these questions, he was busy jotting some notes. He also collected the letter of intent to marry, police clearance and handed back my original birth certificate. In the end he said you've been approved and handed over the welcome letter.

I was out of the building by 9:00am!!

Hope my suggestions will help some out there.

G'luck to everyone!! Don't stress out and arrive EARLY! =)
