Morning all, we have our interview coming up in a few days and while reviewing one question, although small, I dont know the correct answer. I have asked this question in the past, but got two responses, both opposite of one another, so going to try again. They ask for fianceee info, and one question is current status ie married, divorced, seperated, single. My finacee has had an annulment which to me would indicate to check off single, however it says "single(never been married). So I am alittle confussed as to what to check off. In the states annulement means never existed according to chruch, but ofcourse not to the state.. So I am unsure if we should put divorced, or single never been married.

Any of you that have actually been involved with a philipine annulment, please let me know what you put in this box, and did you have to then explain it during the interview. Once again thanks in advance,

Kevin & Lenith

same question as i have before...but with persistance to find answer, i found the link :Dhttp://manila.usemba...v/wwwhnv15.html

saying...

Female applicants with legally terminated or annulled marriage must tick Single (Never Married) on Item 17.

However, they must explain to the interviewing officer the history of their previous marriage.

I am annulled and I checked divorce. It had never been a problem with the CO. Besides they are most aware of the Philippines family law that there is no divorce in the Philippines and that Divorce can be synonymous to Annulment in case of filling out the forms.

Just click "single(never married)." That's the instruction of the USEM for filing out the question, then that's what you should do. Period.

Well, I am annulled and done with my interview. by ticking divorce in the form, I was never asked anything to explain why i chose that instead of the single. if it is their instruction to tick single, then why do they need further explanation for ticking singlw? and besides, the supporting documents speak best more than just the tick on either single ( never been married ) / divorce.
