My wife and I filed the cr-1 petition and we are getting ready for the next part being the NVC. I've read up on the guides but I still have a few question. My questions pertain to the AoS and our joint sponsor. I am a currently a college student near completing my degree. I currently do not work, in fact, I haven't worked since 2003. Needless to say my wife and I will need a joint sponsor. My parents will be the sponsors and file joint taxes. My questions are. They will just need the last three years of their Federal income tax transcripts and proof of U.S. citizenship for the I-864a form? And since I make zero income is there anything else or extra I need to do to do? This area of taxes is rather confusing to me because I never in my life filed for taxes. Thank you for any help.

The head of household will be a joint sponsor and that person's spouse will be their household member. You are primary sponsor and will provide an affidavit stating your income, even if it is zero and your past three years income, even if IT is zero. In the section of YOUR I-864 that asks for the past three years of income from YOUR tax returns, simply hand write, "Petitioner not required to file tax returns due to income below the IRS filing threshold."
