administrative processing

my step dad has applied IR2 visa for me and my sister we went to us consulate chennai after our interview consulate officer has taken our passport and said that we will send your visa after 4 to 6 weeks i said why so she said for administrative process and they have not given any slip to us so can anyone help me with some suggestion thanks.

it sounds like you were approved but AP is normal and the time it takes to complete varies from one case to another. you may be able to find a link on your embassy site to track the progress you will need the case number.
