What is the difference between.. "NO RECORDS ON FILE" & "NO CRIMINAL RECORDS"..

Got my NBI clearance today, and it says "NO RECORD ON FILE".. However, I got a Hit, that's why I have to go to Quality Control interview and signed a waiver stating that I'm not that person...

Any same experience as mine?

I believe, since you got "hit" like me, for as long as you got your NBI clearance with you, you'll be fine.

I also got a "hit" and waiting for the result until next week. Did you get your NBI on same day upon going to Quality Control interview?

Is that your first NBI clearance? If not, did you also get a hit when you applied the first time? I went to NBI today and also got a hit. I don't know what caused it. They didn't release my clearance today; I have to go back another day. I'm confused because this isn't my first time to apply for a clearance, but this is the first time I've been "hit!" My name is pretty unique. Nothing about it - first name, maiden name, married name - is common.

Oh, and to answer your question, "NO RECORD ON FILE" means you're good to go. That means you have neither a criminal case nor a civil case on record. "NO CRIMINAL RECORD" would result in the C.O. from the embassy asking you for a letter of explanation from the NBI.

Where exactly did you get the clearance? Is ti the same office/branch you applied? All I thought was I have a unique name but I was wrong. I've been getting it many times and this is the only time I got "hit"! The last time I had my NBI WAS THIS February 2011 & it is actually valid til next year but since NBI has a new system, I was advised to get the new one...

i got mine in Quezon City hall, i thought it would be a lot easier coz i have a hit, since the very first time i apply for clearance.but since NBI has new system, that's why all of the people who has previously pending case or HIT, they need to under go quality control, don't be scare, the guy interviewed me is so nice, and for as long as you know you don't have any previous crime committed everything will go smooth.. it's just protocol of NBI just to make sure your not that person.
