Hello everyone!

I've just read at the Bureau of Consular Affairs website that CR1 visa applicants are contacted by the consulate with a date and time for their visa interview.

When we received our Packet 4 it sounded like we were the ones who were supposed to book the appointment online -- although we've been trying for over a month and it keeps reading "there are no appointments available at this time."

My question is, are we supposed to wait to get an email/letter from the consulate in Montreal with our appointment time and date or are we supposed to book it ourselves online?

Thanks for your help!!! :)

For CR-1 the interview is scheduled for you so you have to wait until they give you a date.

Hi Sunshine79!

Thanks so much for your answer. I guess I'm confused because in the letter that we received (Packet 4) it specifically says that we have to log in to the CSC Visa Information Services website, select the "trip purpose" and choose "permanently immigrate to the US," and how after entering the information we will be able to select an interview appointment. If we're supposed to wait for them to schedule the interview for us, why didn't they say so in the letter?

Thanks again! All answers are greatly appreciated :)
