Hi everyone - my first post here. I don't know if I'm putting this in the right place (if not, I apologize!), and I'm sure this question has been asked before but if someone can give me some recent experience/feedback, I'd truly appreciate it.

My husband has his interview this Wednesday the 28th at 8am at the Consulate in Montreal for his CR1 visa. I'm imagining/hoping/praying that all will go well.

He's heading out afterwards via train to his sister's in Kitchener, outside of Toronto, and his DHL location is registered somewhere 20 minutes within her home.

I've scheduled time off from work and time off from daughter's school as of October 6th-10th with the intent to pick him up and bring him home, passing thru Buffalo as the POE on our way back.

My question is....does anyone have an estimate or an idea of how long it should take for him to receive his visa packet via DHL? After reading on the forum, I'm getting ideas of somewhere from 3 days (wooo!) to as long as 3 weeks (booo!). Has anyone here interviewed very recently in Montreal? If so, how long did it take to receive your packet via DHL? I realize each case is unique and different. I'm just very nervous and thinking about changing my vacation time. The last thing I want to do is drive 9 hours each way with the intention to bring my hubby home, and have to leave without him.

Thank you!

There is a whole section in the Canada area about how long it takes to get things back.

Some people get it in a week some 2 weeks.

Some their visa has disappeared into a black hole for months.

Basically with Montreal nothing is certain at all what so ever and you have to be VERY careful with planning anything.

My wife just interviewed last Wednesday the 21st. They sent out the passport on Friday the 23rd and she got it today the 26th. It was sent to Markham. So your husband may just get it this coming Monday.

Also, on the Loomis Express website you can click on Transit Times and enter the appropriate postal codes and see how long it will take once it has been picked up.
