Hello Guys,

I came across this blog and found it very helpful, I had to join.

I came here on a F-1 visa and overstayed my time. I'm just got married to my girlfriend of 5 years who is a US Citizen.

I have a few questions if anyone could help.

I live in New York where do i file my AOS?

Also do i send all the forms i-485, i-131, i-130,i-864 and i-765 to the same address?

Advice No. 1: Don't post the same thing multiple times on different forums. Find the right one - or the one you think is the right one - post it there, and then just wait. People will respond, and the Mods will move the post if the forum you picked is not the correct one. The forum you should be posting on, btw, is the AOS from work, student and tourist visa-forum, as you are adjusting from an F1 visa, not a family-based visa.

Yes, you file all those forms together. If you've read the instructions carefully, you should know that. If you're unsure at this point, I would suggest you read them again just to make sure you have not missed something else. You also need the I-693, medical examination form, which needs to be filled out by a designated civil surgeon after you've had your medical done.

You send your paperwork to the Chicago lockbox, as do all who file I-130 and I-485 concurrently. This is also in the instructions. If you live in NYC, that's where your interview will eventually take place.

Also, don't bother with the I-131 if you have overstayed - if you've overstayed your visa, you will be issued the advance parole but you cannot use it or you'll risk triggering a ban to the US if you leave. To be on the safe side, it's not advisable to travel abroad if you've overstayed your non-immigrant visa until you have your physical greencard. The AP is therefore useless.
