Hello,

I'm a british national wanting to move over to the USA with my fiancee. She is currently a USA citizen and living in florida she also has a dependant her son, i understand from the I-864P form that this would require a annual income of just above $23,000, with a household number of 3, which naturally includes me, her and her son. However my fiancee only earns approxmitely $12,000 a year; i understand i would require a co-sponsor on this ground. My question is could i get a co-sponsor who earns $12,000 a year and combine it with my fiancee income to create a total of $24,000 which would put my fiancee just above the line. Would this be possible or would the co-sponsor have to be earning over the requirement on their own? Could a joint income of a family be used such as a husband and wife both sponsor me with a joint income of over $23,000 would this be possible?

I expect this question has been asked many a times and i'm completely new to all this, the forms themselves don't look too hard, but the I-134 and I-864 are concerning me a bit, because i really don't want to make mistakes then have to wait an insane amount of time while those mistakes are fixed.

Any information any person can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortuantely, a co-sponsor's income cannot be combined with the income of your wife. Your co-sponsor would need to meet the income requirement of $23,162 on their own.

Thank you for clearing that question up but relating to my other question,

"Could a joint income of a family be used such as a husband and wife both sponsor me with a joint income of over $23,000 would this be possible?"

Do you have any idea on that one? So could a joint income of a husband and wife be used to sponsor me or again would this also require both husband and wife to have single annual incomes of $23,162?
